Shannon Simpson - SC Regional Director 2008
I was born in Indianapolis, IN on 06/14/68 and grew up in Carmel, IN. I attended Ball State University as a Music Performance Major in Percussion, and graduated from Purdue University with a B.A. in Psychology. I currently counsel children in crisis at Youth Emergency Services in Indianapolis, IN. I have a wonderful 16-year old daughter. She is my pride and joy. My hobbies include music, herpetology and anything associated with the paranormal. I have been with IGT since September 2002. I originally started as a member of the Indy Chapter holding the position of Secretary, and was promoted to a Director's position in 02/04. I am honored to currently hold the position of SC Regional Director. |

Melanie Hunter
Trained Investigator Melanie grew up in the small town of Lawrenceville, in southeastern Illinois, but was born across the Wabash River in Vincennes, so technically that makes her a bona fide Hoosier. She majored in music and modern foreign languages at Vincennes University, but didn't complete her post-secondary education until exactly 20 years later, after marriage and kids, when she graduated from IU in General Studies. She worked for IU's Kelley School of Business for 18.5 years, then tried her hand at teaching middle school and, currently, Marketing/PR in the Monroe County Community School Corp's Adult Education program. A lifelong fascination with the supernatural (an avid Poe reader at 8) plus some paranormal experiences in a local apartment led to her discovery of IGT, and she joined in March 2007, along with her husband, Rob. (Her two grown-up, smartaleck sons just roll their eyes or smile and nod patronizingly.) |

Rick Schmelz - Bloomington Trainer and Webmaster
2010 Trained Investigator and Tech Geek I grew up in Clarksville and New Albany, almost as far south as you can get in Indiana. The house I spent the majority of my childhood in had a phantom that liked to walk the hallway, which on top of my natural curiosity got me interested in the Paranormal fairly early. A geek from day 1, I attended Purdue University for 2.5 years before I came to my senses and went into computers rather than Engineering. I moved to Bloomington to take a job with IU, and ended up working for the local school corporation as a Computer Technician. I found IGT on the web, and decided to attend a meeting. I lean toward the super-rational end of the spectrum, preferring to strenuously eliminate the normal before declaring something Paranormal. |
